Beginning from a simple hexagon, this project, under the trajectory of parametric exploration, simply sought the coherence of performative characteristics. As time passed, and as knowledge and capabilities with software increased, worthy geometries emerged. However, these worthy geometries, and their co-present performative characteristics, had their roots not in a normative desire to improve a human condition, but in a process of uncertain purpose: exploring to see what will happen. To comment on this geometrical freedom from commitment, or embrace of the wholly non-linear, ‘reactive geometries of containment/exclusion’ displays what can emerge: a tactical geometry of control, a devise to be used to limit the potentials of a subject population.

First seen as a mechanism for a prison wall, a multitude of other uses quickly emerged, always centering on a linear boundary that contracts and constricts when approached. National boundaries, contested spaces of occupation, or temporary security perimeters, are some of the possibilities that came to mind.
