a landscape interpretive centre
The final 4 week project of Studio 1 asked that a landscape interpretive centre be designed within a 50x50m site chosen in Edworthy Park, Calgary. Analysis of the site had been occurring throughout the previous projects during the semester. Here, our design was to reflect the nuances of the park that we had come to know throughout this time. Analysis of site began to be seen on a range of scales: from micro, highly localized species interactions; to macro, instances of regional geological and biological clarity. the comprehension of these scales was attempted, through architecture, to become compressed into a single space, where a simple linear slice could situate the user into a space of multi-scalar coherence.
