a multi-use urban agricultural complex

Located along a high-street at the edge of two tight knit inner-city neighbourhoods, this large multi-use urban agricultural complex seeks to fit in by pulling itself apart into its constituent parts. This dis-aggregation on the ground plane creates multiple paths and frontages, and seamlessly continues the rhythm and scale of the context. Centred in the complex is the seed bank, which acts as a highly differentiated, yet partially concealed landmark. A large production greenhouse sits atop all other structures, linking all of the dis-aggregated elements, through bridged portions and open-air light-wells. This way, all of the programmatic elements are linked to the complex’s foundational purpose.
